Race to Wrigley - Brian Runs a 5K

Turns out Brian likes to run!

Ever since he ran the 5K in Hawaii...he has been wanting to do it again. Our good friend Jess Campbell suggested he participate in the Race to Wrigley to benefit Children's Memorial hospital. So he did...and LOVE IT! Thanks Jess!!
The race took him all around Wriglyville. The last half of the mile was through the concorse in the stadium. Brian was so excited to slap Ernie Banks hand while running.

I think next year a bunch of us should run/walk in this event and go out for drinks and run around the city.....sounds fun to me! Good Job Brian!

Happy Mother's Day - 2010

I feel so blessed to be the Mom of these two adorable kids...everyday, but especially on Mother's Day. They were so good to me this year! I love you Luke & Adriana and I am so proud to be your Mom.

We had a great day visiting with our families. First at our house with Brian's family and then at my Parents house with my family!

A special Thank You goes out to Brian for helping make this Mother's Day so special! I Love You.

Not only am I lucky to have Luke & Ade, I am also very lucky they have good taste and know what I LIKE! I was treated to a beautiful bouquet of Pink Roses...

And a new Juicy Purse!!!

But I have to say, one of my favorite gifts was the handmade wreath and card from Luke. He made this special for me at school and was so excited for me to open it. He even decorated the wrapping paper!

At school, Luke's teacher wrote down what Luke wanted his card to say.....WORD FOR WORD..How cute!

Also, I wanted to give my Mom a shout out for ALWAYS being a wonderful Mom & Nonna. We Love you More than you Know and Appreciate all that you do for us. I have said it before and I will say it again, I only hope and pray that I can be as good of a Mom to my kids as you have been/are to me! I am trying to learn from the best!

Summer Here we Come....

We are ready to go to the pool...or at least Adriana is. She received four bathing suits for her birthday...and loves all of them.   Now the only question is...which one to wear????

She also received a really cute pink two piece from the DiMaria's but would not let me get it on her....little stinker!!!

Adriana 1st Birthday Cont...

So after uploading these pictures...they somehow got out of order..Oh well. By now most of you are over all the posts about Adriana's 1st birthday so I think this might be the last post..unless I come up with something else.  After Pump It Up, we had some friends over to help open gifts and continue the celebration...Adult style!  As you can see from the picture below, it was a little chaotic...but lots of fun..

Luke & Ellie, the "older" kids helped open all the presents, while the younger ones Addie, Jacob, Ade, Ella & Keaton, all scrambled to play with the toys.  Thank you to everyone for all of the gifts! Since we did not get to open in front of everyone Adriana received TONS of clothes, dolls, shopping carts, a tea set, jewlery box, a Slide, Water Table, swimsuits and much much more!!!

Somehow with all of these posts we forgot to mention that Ella had a twin brother that she has been hiding...no just kidding, this is my nephew Liam. He kinda looks like he could be Ella's brother ...it must be the blond hair and blue eyes!

The Pink Bunny from the Rojas...love this bunny...this is one of those put up on a shelf bunny until Adriana is older..she is beautful! Luke has a blue bear from the Rojas when he turned one...just love it.

Adriana's First Birthday Cont..Pump It Up

We had Adriana's First Birthday Party at Pump it Up.  I think everyone had a great time...17 kids, 9 babies, 30 adults and 2 rooms filled with bouncing houses and slides.   How could we go wrong?

I was not able to get a ton of pictures because I was running around, but I did snap a few..

Adriana's Birthday Celebrations

Since I completly did not blog at all last week, I have some catching up to do.  Lets go back to Adriana's birthday.  On her actual birthday, we had a little family night celebration.  Since our stove was out, (long story if you have not heard about it already), I was not able to make her a cake so we all enjoyed Cupcakes!!   Here is Adriana holding her candle..while we are singing.  We did light the candle and instead of blowing it out, she touched it...I KNOW scary.  She kept reaching for it and Brian kept pulling her hand back and moving the cupcake farther and farther away from her. All of a sudden her bear claw reached one last time and out went the candle...we both gasped and I think held our breath for a second waiting for the screams..instead she pulled out the sweetest  smile, I swear if she could talk she would have said "Gottcha!"...no burn marks, no tears..just complete excitement from her. I am almost postive Brian blew the candle  right before she grabbed it, but from where I was standing...it looked like her fingers took out that flame.

Anyway she was a little hesitant at first, but ended up covered in chocolate!

 

Then Luke helped Adriana open her presents.  A cute Minnie Mouse...

A shopping cart...Although for some reason I have a picture of it wrapped instead of open.

And my personal favorite gift....a Cabbage Patch Premie!  I had a couple of CPK dolls when I was growing up and I have a very vivid memory of opening up my doll.  So when I saw this in the store...I just felt that I needed to purchase one for my daughter.  This one was actually a surprise Premie...was it a girl or a boy...you had to break through the wires and impossible tape to find out...to our surprise it was a

Girl...Ava Ruby.  She loves her. To be honest, when I was at the store, I stood in front of the CPK dolls for a good 10 minutes trying to decided if I wanted to get a Premie or a older doll with dark long hair.  For obvious reasons...I mean lets face it, she has never been a bald baby. But in the end I figured, I am sure I will end up buying her another doll one day with hair so lets start out with the Premie. 

So now that she is 12 months here are some of her stats...

-Weighs 20lbs on the dot which puts her in the 40th percentile.

-28.5 inches still 40%

-She is in a big girl car seat, facing forward and loving it!

-Walking all over the place

-Babbles a lot, but starting to say HI, BABY, MOMMA, DADA, and she said ELLLLLLLLAAAAA just the other day!

-Has her first double ear infection..so she did not get her shots yet.

-Her first year molars are coming in...hate it!

-Is our little sleeping beauty..FINALLY.

-Goes down for naps and bedtime like a champ. Hardly ever whines or cries when I put her down (I love this)!!!

- She is learning to find her nose, belly & ears...when I ask her where her nose is, she walks up to me and puts her nose to mine...for a cute litte rub..we call this noseys...so cute!
