School's Out for the SUMMER!!!!

This week was Luke's last week of Preschool. It is a little bittersweet for us...we are happy summer is here..but sad that we had to leave all of our friends and teachers. Luke went to school two days a week and absolutely loved it. His teachers Mrs. Coyle and Mrs Letheby were so nice and helpful with Luke. He always gave them hugs at the end of the day and spoke very fondly of them at home. We can totally tell how much he has grown in one year. Luke has learned how to spell his name, identify his name when written and even write his name...even though all the letters are very crooked and extremely close together. We are still working on identifying the alphabet, but I am pretty sure that will come in time. He was given an evaluation at the beginning of the school year and another at the end to see how he has progressed. I am so proud of him! They rate the kids with an A= Attempted; C= Completed or D= Does not Attempt. Here are some stats:

Can follow the classroom routine, knows what comes next - A at the beginning of the year; C at the end of the year.

Is able to match pictures of same items - D at the beginning of the year (he would not even attempt this task) and C at the end of the year....way to go Luke! There are a ton more but those are just a couple.

The teachers end of the year remarks were: "Luke has mastered the Almost 3's class. He truly enjoys his friendships with his classmates. He has also shown great strides in the academic activities in the classroom. He always asks questions because he wants to be doing things right. Luke has been a joy to have in class" - Mrs. Coyle.

This probably should have been the first picture in this post, but I was having a hard time arranging the pictures. This is Luke excited to give his teachers a little end of school gift. I found these cute lunch bags with there last name initials and we added a gift card inside.
